LANCASTER, PA (October 27, 2021) – The largest CPA and advisory firm based in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania today announced the expansion of its presence in the Lehigh Valley through a merger with Allentown-based Stoudt Associates LLC. The merger, which takes effect November 1, 2021, will give RKL LLP a deeper bench of local talent and allow the firm to better serve the business, management and financial needs of organizations and their leaders throughout the region.
“This merger with Stoudt Associates brings us closer to our valued clients in the Lehigh Valley and allows us to build new relationships within the business community,” said RKL CEO Ed Monborne. “We’re proud to welcome the talented professionals from Stoudt to RKL and ready to introduce our diverse solutions to even more organizations.”
As a result of the merger, Michael Stoudt, CPA, and ten professionals will join RKL’s 500 team members serving clients in all 50 states. Stoudt will serve as a partner in RKL’s Small Business Services Group and lead the firm’s operations in the Lehigh Valley. With more than 30 years of public accounting and finance experience, Stoudt specializes in advising family owned businesses and health care clients. Ten other professionals bring to RKL decades of experience delivering tax, accounting and consulting services to construction, real estate, retail and professional services companies in the Lehigh Valley.
“Becoming part of RKL means we can offer our clients a wider range of advisory and accounting capabilities and meet their needs in a comprehensive and collaborative manner,” Stoudt said. “We’re inspired by the opportunity to join one of PA’s leading firms and contribute to its continued growth and success.”
Stoudt Associates’ existing offices at the Butz Corporate Center on Hamilton Street in Allentown and on Walnut Street in Bath will represent the seventh and eighth Pennsylvania-based locations for RKL, which also has operations in Lancaster, York, Reading, Exton, Harrisburg and Mechanicsburg. The firm has additional locations across the U.S. through its IT consulting subsidiary, RKL eSolutions.
This geographic expansion is the latest chapter in the RKL growth story, fueled by an instinct for emerging demand among its clients and trusted relationships built between the firm’s professionals and the organizations they serve. It follows a surge in demand for its HR consulting practice and the continued development of specialized services, including data analytics, outsourced accounting solutions and information systems assurance and advisory capabilities.
RKL’s focus on helping clients get ready for what’s next consistently ranks it among the nation’s top firms and more recently as the largest firm based in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. The innovation, talent and generosity of its team members recently earned RKL a fifth straight ranking as one of the Best Places to Work in PA.
