LANCASTER, PA (December 15, 2021) – RKL LLP today announced a westward expansion of its footprint through a merger with Chambersburg-based Rotz & Stonesifer, P.C. Effective January 1, 2022, the merger will establish RKL in Franklin and Adams counties and provide the firm a local platform from which to serve organizations and their leaders in South Central Pennsylvania, Western Maryland and beyond.
“Rotz & Stonesifer has built a respected legacy of expertise and excellence in South Central Pennsylvania, and we are proud to unite under the RKL banner to continue this success,” said RKL CEO Ed Monborne. “This merger is an exciting opportunity to advance our firm’s strategic growth objectives and introduce RKL to new communities in South Central Pennsylvania and beyond.”
Rotz & Stonesifer’s four offices will bring RKL to 12 Pennsylvania locations. The offices in Chambersburg, Greencastle and East Berlin will give RKL a new presence in Franklin and Adams counties, while the York location will enhance the firm’s existing operations within that county. RKL also has locations in Lancaster, York, Reading, Exton, Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Allentown and Bath, as well as across the U.S. through its IT consulting subsidiary, RKL eSolutions.
“Joining RKL is an incredible opportunity for our professionals and clients to benefit from the specialized services, innovative approach and entrepreneurial spirit of the region’s leading firm,” said Lynn Rotz, President, CEO and Managing Shareholder of Rotz & Stonesifer. “Together, we’re excited to invest in the trusted relationships developed over the past three decades and help even more organizations reach the next level.”
More than 50 professionals from Rotz & Stonesifer, including four partners, will join RKL’s nationwide complement of 500 team members. Rotz, Todd Stonesifer, L. David Law and Michael C. Buhrman will join the firm partnership. Rotz will also lead operations of the firm’s Franklin and Adams county locations. The new partners bring deep expertise and decades of experience delivering accounting, personal and business tax, trusts and estates, and financial planning services to closely held companies and high net worth individuals.
This westward expansion follows the recent merger between RKL and Stoudt Associates LLC, which increased RKL’s Lehigh Valley presence with 11 new team members and offices in Allentown and Bath. RKL’s growth and success on behalf of its clients and communities ranks it as the largest firm based in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania, the 15th largest in the Mid-Atlantic region and #57 in the nation. The firm’s people-focused culture also earned it a fifth straight spot among the Best Places to Work in PA in 2021.
