The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) has named RKL’s Emily A. Bomberger, CPA/ABV, CFE, and Rachel A. Horst, CPA, among its 2019 Young Leaders, in recognition of their positive impact on the accounting profession and their communities.
Bomberger and Horst, along with their fellow Young Leader Award recipients, were honored at the PICPA’s annual Leadership Conference, held on September 19, 2019, in Harrisburg.
“Emily and Rachel are the future of the accounting profession,” said Jill E. Gilbert, a Partner in RKL’s Audit Services Group. “These two young professionals represent RKL well through their firm leadership, PICPA volunteer activities and community involvement. I am honored to work with them. Congratulations to Emily and Rachel on this well-deserved award.”
A Consultant in RKL’s Business Consulting Services Group, Bomberger has more than five years of public accounting experience providing outsourcing services, business valuations, fraud investigation and forensic accounting. An active PICPA member, she serves as chair of the South Central Chapter’s Schools and Colleges Committee, as well as on the Emerging CPAs/Member Services Committee and statewide CPA Exam Scholarship Judges Committee. Outside of PICPA, she is a member of the Junior League of Lancaster, formerly serving as Investment Chair. Bomberger resides in Wyomissing with her husband, their daughter and dog.
A manager in RKL’s Small Business Services Group with more than seven years of experience, Horst specializes in providing financial, accounting and tax services to both individuals and businesses in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing/distribution, retail and services. A member of PICPA South Central Chapter’s Executive Committee, she also serves as Board Treasurer for the Central Market Trust and is a member of Leadership Lancaster’s Class of 2020. Horst lives in Lancaster.
